The fast food industry continues to innovate and get better as various restaurants and now food parks spruce up offering different innovations. One Filipino food chain that remains to be on the top of its game is no other than Jollibee. We have grown up together with them, having known each of their offerings throughout the years.

One of their specialties, of which they are very known for is their Chicken Joy. Yes Jollibee is a chicken over burger now in terms of branding. Who isn’t familiar with this tasty treat? Of course I didn’t pass up on the chance of getting my hands on, on this fast food wonder when I visited Jolibee’s Pioneer branch.

We all know that currently, our countrymen seems to be divided in a lot of things. But when it comes to Chicken Joy, they seemed to be all in the same path of agreeing that this is one of the best chicken fried chicken on top of mind. Its “Crispylicious, Juicylicious, and Gravylicious” taglines stick and they make much sense. This bone-in chicken is cooked to a golden crisp, and has a distinct savory after taste.

You might even want to eat the skin later because as some people would put it, “you save the best for last.” The skin gives off an irresistible crunch in every bite. In contrast to it is the succulent, juicy, tender meat on the inside.

I am not at all surprised why this classic is a surefire hit around the globe. Even food critic and author, Anthony Bourdain, fell in love with the Chickenjoy, which he finds unbelievably good, together with the “sinister brown sauce” or the gravy. No wonder that it is going around in a buzz in different countries, including the US. Foodbeast cited the Chicken Joy as the third best fried chicken in United States, and is voted the top fried chicken in Hong Kong. This is something that we Filipinos can be very much proud of.

Jolibee has released their latest ad highlighting the reasons as to why their Chicken Joy brings so much joy to foodies worldwide. Not only is it scrumptious, it is also affordable for every Filipino. This is available for dine-in, take-out, delivery, and drive-through transactions, starting at Php 75 for the Solo Meal.

After having a lovely time indulging on a classic favorite, I get to spoil myself with Choco Mallow Pie. It’s actually a seasonal item in their menu which they have only relaunched last May. The pie is easy on the pocket for only Php 32, it is made of a crispy crust enveloping a gooey filling of milk and chocolate and melted marshmallows. I suggest that you eat them while it’s cooked fresh and piping hot, you chocolate lovers will be in for a nice surprise.

For that langhap sarap goodness that is Jollibee, take the time to make a stop at a branch near you. Dine in to your heart’s desire and say, “Isa pa, isa pang Chicken Joy!

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
